Pizza Hut and Doritos launch crunchy stuffed crust pizza

Pizza fast food restaurant Pizza Hut has partnered with corn chip brand Doritos to launch a new crunchy stuffed crust pizza in Australia.

The Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza is made with mozzarella cheese in the crust, layered with original flavoured Doritos crunchy corn chips and sprinkled with taste cheddar cheese around the edge of pizza.

Arriving just in time for the party season, Pizza Hut said the Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza was available with any of the Pizza Hut toppings for a limited time only.

“We’re so excited to launch the Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza – it’s the kind of pizza that needs to not only be eaten, but heard to be believed,” said Fatima Syed, Pizza Hut Australia Head of Marketing and Innovation. “As you bite into the crust you’ll be blown away by the crunch – it’s not only seriously loud, but delicious,” she said.

Ms Syed said Pizza Hut chose Doritos because it is “a globally loved brand and they have the best corn chips to deliver the ultimate crunch”.

“This exciting and undeniably fun new crust will wow all your senses, not just your taste buds,” Ms Syed said. “We know from research how big an impact the crunch sound has on one’s appetite. This is an all taste, no waste pizza,” she said.

The Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza is Pizza Hut’s latest crust innovation and follows on from the huge success achieved through previous launches such as Hot Dog Stuffed Crust and Cheeseburger Crust pizzas.

Pizza Hut, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, is the world’s largest pizza restaurant company with more than 14,000 restaurants around the world. The Company has operated for 50 years and is a leader in the $37 billion global pizza category.

In celebration of the launch, Pizza Hut is rewarding consumers who creatively share their experience tasting the NEWDoritos Crunchy Crust Pizza online using the hashtag #pizzahutcrunch, with free pizza to be won. More details can be found on Pizza Hut’s social media pages.
