New cook book for the elderly released

It's all about the food not the fork bookA new cook book aimed at the elderly and those with dementia is being launched this month.

‘It’s all about the food not the fork!’, is written by Peter Morgan-Jones with Lisa Greedy, Prudence Ellis and Danielle McIntosh. It includes a guest recipe and foreword by celebrity chef, Maggie Beer.

Peter Morgan-Jones is the Executive Chef at Hammond Care which provides aged care services in Australia. He has previously cooked for the British Royal family and worked for five years as an executive sous chef at Bennelong restaurant at the Sydney Opera House.

The book includes 107 recipes which are easy to eat and considers issues often faced by the elderly such as lack of appetite and difficulty using cutlery.

‘It’s all about the food not the fork!’ follows on from Morgan-Jones’ first cook book for the elderly and those with eating difficulties, ‘Don’t give me eggs that bounce’ .

The book is available for purchase through Readings, Booktopia and Hammond Care with a recommended retail price of AUD $39.95.
