SodaStreamSodaStream is launching a homemade beer system called ‘The Beer Bar’.

The Beer Bar will allow consumers to make beer at home using sparkling water and a beer concentrate made by SodaStream.

SodaStream has so far only revealed one of the beers users will be able to make, a light beer called ‘Blondie’. Blondie contains 4.5 per cent alcohol and one liter of its concentrate can create approximately three liters of beer.

“We are excited to launch a brand dedicated to serving the global growing trend of home crafted beer”, said Mark Fenton, Managing Director of SodaStream Australia.

“Our core carbonation technology and distribution infrastructure provide a great platform for us to extend our business into this emerging category, and we choose to do so with a dedicated beer brand”.

The Beer Bar is available now in parts of Europe and will be launched in other markets, including Australia, towards late 2016 and throughout 2017.

Recommended retail prices are yet to be announced.
