Food franchisor purchases ice-cream chain
The Franchised Food Company (FFCo) has continued its expansion with the purchase of the 87-strong Cold Rock chain of ice-cream outlets.
Melbourne-based businessman Stan Gordon, the owner of FFCo, settled the transaction at the end of last week and has since announced the appointment of Michael Sherlock as Executive Chairman. Mr Sherlock is best known for his role in turning around the Brumby’s Bakeries business during the early part of this decade.
He is reportedly excited by the challenge of helping FFCo become a major franchising group and believes the Cold Rock brand has “enormous potential”.
Currently, FFCo has the rights to the Mr Whippy and Pretzel World franchises.
