Great Southern Food and Wine Festival
13 – 14 June 2010, Werribee Park Mansion and National Equestrian CentreEquestrian Victoria is calling on all gourmet regional food and wine producers to be a part of the inaugural Great Southern Food and Wine Festival to be held in conjunction with Australia’s most prestigious equestrian event, the Melbourne International Three Day Event, on the Queen’s Birthday weekend in June.
Held in the magnificent grounds of Werribee Mansion and the adjacent National Equestrian Centre, the festival aims to showcase Victoria’s gourmet regional fare to more than 10,000 spectators in a stunning environment.
The concept was developed to add a unique entertainment precinct over the course of this world-class equestrian event, to cater for not only the equestrian spectator fraternity attending, but a local, national and international epicurean crowd wanting to explore the diversity of the region’s finest cuisine, without commuting long distances.
The giant marquee will be an escape from the occasionally volatile June weather, a warm haven for visitors to embrace the ambiance, listen to acoustic music, enjoy a glass of wine, sample unique cuisine, and for traders to show off their fare to a receptive audience.
