Queensland-based food and beverage company Buderim Ginger Group has launched a new chocolate macadamia nut spread under its Mac Farms brand.

The Company said the spread, called Macabella, is the “first of its kind in Australia”.

Buderim Ginger began as a small farming community co-operative, formed when the Second World War cut ginger supplies from China and sales of Buderim-grown ginger soared in Australia. Buderim Ginger Limited listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 1989. The Company now supplies Australian markets, as well as exporting ginger and ginger products to the UK, Germany, the US, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore.

Buderim Ginger said that macadamias “are a nutrition powerhouse and contain many nutrients including heart-friendly monounsaturated fatty acids”.

Macabella chocolate macadamia nut spread is available from Woolworthers and Coles supermarkets nationally for RRP $5.29.
