Muffin BreakMuffin Break will now be offering two ‘lower carb’ muffins to Australian consumers.

The muffins are said to have 70 per cent less carbohydrates, 75 per cent less sugar and 47 – 49 per cent less kilojoules when compared to a standard Muffin Break muffin.

Five years in research and development, the muffins come in ‘Berry Nut and Seeds’ and ‘Macadamia, Mango and Passionfruit’ flavours. Berry, Nuts and Seeds includes linseed, almonds, sunflower and sesame seeds along with goji berries, boysenberry, blackcurrant and apple compote. The Macadamia, Mango and Passionfruit muffin is tropical in flavour with peaches and coconut added in.

Muffin Break says the muffins are designed for the health conscious and those living with diabetes.

John Macphail, Muffin Break Brand Manager, lead the development of the range as someone who has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for almost 30 years.

The chain already offers other muffins for those with health needs including gluten free, dairy free, bran, low fat and Weight Watchers endorsed.

Muffin Break lower carb muffins are available now Australia wide with a recommended retail price of $ 4.00 per muffin.
