Queensland’s Industry Set to Excel with New Food Processing & Manufacturing Event
FoodTech Qld is the first of its kind – an event dedicated to the food and beverage processing and manufacturing industries of Queensland. Taking place in late June, the event will host visitors and exhibitors who have a vital part to play in the future of Queensland’s economy. The strength of the industry is what inspired the event, and it is this same strength that will maintain Queensland’s place as a high performer in Australia’s economic performance.
Event Director Peter Petherick says, “The food sector relies heavily on technology and new technological developments, and staying on top of trends and technological advances is crucial to sustaining business and remaining competitive here and globally.” With over 120 exhibitors, visitors will be able to find everything they need for their operation under one roof.
New products featuring innovative manufacturing technology will be on show at exhibitor stands like Select Equip. As the exclusive distributor for internationally renowned manufacturers, their product showcase will include the Lan L Labar automation experts. Lan L Labar’s systems are complete, integrated, and provide end of line solutions that increase efficiency – both in time and cost.
The food processing sector will use the show to discuss and showcase solutions for issues like risk reduction and productivity. Specifically, how automation has emerged as a potential key to the problem. From Milmeq to CSB-System, a range of exhibitors will offer an exciting glimpse into the future of the food manufacturing industry.
Managing risk has always been a significant concern in the meat processing industry, with workers twice as likely to be injured as people in other sectors. And when the average cost of a serious injury is over $68,000, it’s not an issue that should be taken lightly – by employees and companies alike.
Automation offers significant benefits not only to safety, but productivity, standardization, reliability and transparency too. Equipment such as the CSB-Eyedentifier can remove the need to manually enter product information – instead, the machine uses image analysis to identify and sort products automatically, significantly increasing productivity and accuracy.
Along with showcasing innovative and brand new technologies, the packaging sector will be a key area of focus at this year’s event. There will be an emphasis not only the role packaging plays in product safety and increased shelf-life, but more importantly the need for developing sustainable practices associated with the production of packaging and minimizing the waste by the end-user.
Brand new ingredients and technology, along with science, testing and new equipment will also be available to investigate at the show. This show is truly the first of its kind and a very exciting place to be.
FoodTech Qld will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 26 – 28 in what is sure to be three exciting days for the Queensland and Northern NSW food manufacturing community to get together, filled with the very latest industry has to offer.
