Things are changing at the top of Aussie Farmers Direct.
Chief Executive Officer, Keith Louie, has stepped down.
Aussie Farmers Direct is an online grocery delivery service which delivers a large range of usually supermarket-sold products. It also delivers meal kits.
The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Brendan Shaw, will take on the CEO role while Aussie Farmers Direct finds someone to fill the role.
A spokesperson for Aussie Farmers Direct Board said Keith Louie has done a great job over the last two years in readying the company for the next important phase of the business’ development.
“2017 will be a watershed year for AFG as the Company rolls out a number of exciting new initiatives such as offering The General Store nationwide and expanding our ready-to-cook meals offering,” the spokesperson said.
“These offerings, together with Aussie Farmers Direct’s Australian farmer procurement model, day-before ordering, no subscriptions and great value combine to give a unique offering which will deliver sustainable growth and success for the company,” the spokesperson said.
The change at Aussie Farmers Direct coincides with the rise of new online competitors in the same sector, these include new delivery services from a range of food sources such as Hello Fresh, Youfoodz and Larder Door.
