Nutty Bruce Roasted Almond & Oat Milk is the first of its kind in Australia and will roll out across Independent Supermarkets nationally from this month.

The newest milk in the Nutty Bruce range was created for consumers looking for a creamier texture than traditional nut milks, but with the delicious nuttiness of roasted almonds. As with all Nutty Bruce milks, Roasted Almond & Oat Milk contains only natural ingredients, with no gums, thickeners, oils or emulsifiers. It contains just four simple ingredients; filtered water, whole grain organic oats, roasted organic almonds and a pinch of sea salt to balance flavours, and is organic and vegan. 

Although relatively new to the Australian market, oat milk is growing in popularity globally, and is currently the number one selling milk in Europe’s Rice Nuts Grains and Seeds market, closely followed by almond (Tetra 2018).

“It is not surprising that the popularity of oat milk is growing so quickly, as more and more people look for plant-milk substitutes that suit their needs. Oat milk provides a more neutral flavour than some nut milks, as well as a naturally thick and deliciously creamy texture that is great in cereals as well as frothing for coffees,” Didi Lo, CEO of Soulfresh, said. 

“In Australia almond milk is still the number one dairy alternative milk, and also the original of Nutty Bruce milks, so by adding roasted almonds to the oat milk we have been able to create an ideal combination, which has a great nutty flavour.”

Almond Milk is the number one dairy alternative category in Australia with 62% share of the Rice/Soy Milk Category (IRI 2019).

Since its launch three years ago, Nutty Bruce plant based milks have led the way in providing an alternative for consumers looking to move away from dairy milk – with 1 in 6 Australians currently avoiding dairy (Mintel 2018).

Roasted Almond & Oat Milk is the fifth variant in the Nutty Bruce range, which also includes Activated Almond Milk, Unsweetened Activated Almond Milk, Almond & Coconut Milk and Coconut Milk. Nutty Bruce is one of the few nut milk ranges in supermarket fridges made using simple, natural ingredients without gums, thickeners, preservatives, colours or added oils.

Nutty Bruce has also expanded into snacking and spreads this year, with the release of almond butters and snack balls, with bars set to launch next month.
