Coopers Pale Ale & Burger

Posted by Media Release Agency on 15th October 2019

Australian diners will get the opportunity to experience Coopers Original Pale Ale in a new way – as an integral part of burgers created during a new Coopers Burger Hero competition.

The competition aims to find Australia’s best burger with a twist of Coopers Original Pale Ale.

More than 70 venues have signed up to compete for the title of Coopers Burger Hero 2019, which runs from October 14 to November 24.

Coopers have asked venues to craft a new burger or tweak an existing burger recipe adding a twist of Coopers Original Pale Ale, or they can feature a burger inspired by the flavour profile or brew attributes of Coopers Original Pale Ale, such as fruity, floral, or crisp bitterness. Burgers can also be vegan or vegetarian.

The challenge is set to get chefs creative juices flowing, with one establishment already requesting a sample of Coopers’ prized malt to create their burger buns.

The public are invited to vote for their favourite Coopers Original Pale Ale & Burger, by visiting the participating venues, purchasing the Pale and Burger combo, and uploading a picture to Instagram.

Entrants have the chance to win a trip for two to Adelaide to be part of the Ultimate Coopers Experience – including being on the judging panel at the inaugural Coopers Burger Hero Finals, a WOMADelaide “money can’t buy” experience, a tour of Coopers Brewery with a family member, flights and accommodation.

The challenge will see the top eight participating venues battle it out for the title of Coopers Burger Hero at the final judging event in Adelaide on 6th March next year. The Burger Hero 2019 will be determined by the Cooper family, the consumer winner and an independent burger expert, Jimmy Hurlston (@jimmysburgers) and author of The Burger Book – Victoria.

Coopers Marketing and Innovation Director, Cam Pearce, said he is looking forward to visiting venues and experiencing the burgers with a twist of Coopers Pale Ale.

“Who doesn’t love a beer and burger at their local pub?” he said.

“We can’t wait to see what creative combinations are served up, and I look forward to hosting the venue finalists in Adelaide as they battle it out for the title of Coopers Burger Hero 2019.”
