There’s no denying Aussies love mangoes, new Pepsi Max research reveals using a shaver to peel the fruit is one of the nation’s favourite way to mango.

To celebrate the launch of its new mango flavour, Pepsi Max called on the nation to put the debate to rest once and for all, with “mango shaver” landing 63% of the vote. The research also reveals other strange ways Aussies have been eating their mangoes, including a knife and fork (7%), sucking the juice out (13%) with a small handful going as far as eating them in a bath and the shower.

To settle the debate, Pepsi Max brought the nation’s boldest mango fans together to weigh in on the argument, revealing their unique mango hacks, including:
Bachelor star Brittney Weldon’s classy but crafty winning shaving hack
The Air Fryer Guy shockingly used an air fryer for his mango fries hack
Self-confessed mango enthusiast Kieran Davidson’s messy shower hack
The List King himself, Bruno Bouchet, creatively used a Medicare card for his hack

With how they eat their mango causing a stir, the Pepsi Max research revealed just how passionately Aussies feel about their favourite summer fruit:
Nearly half (46%) of Aussies are obsessed with mangoes, saying it is their favourite fruit and they can’t get enough of them
Two thirds (64%) admit to getting into a heated debate with their family over the best way to eat a mango
One third (30%) are adamant there’s a ‘right’ way to eat a mango

With 60% of the vote, one thing Aussies did agree on was that mango is the ultimate taste of summer and the flavour they want to pair with Pepsi Max – with a refreshingly juicy taste and no sugar, it is the perfect way to enjoy the flavour of mango.

Pepsi Max Mango is available now in stores across Australia in 600mL and 1.25L bottles, as well as 375mL and 440mL cans.
