A local cult classic gin gets a sweet sibling just in time for Easter!
After a stellar performance of The Craft & Co’s cult classic Gingerbread Gin last year, comes an all-new spicy spin-off just in time for Easter… introducing the all-new Gingerbread Gin Liqueur. Whilst their original award-winning Gingerbread Gin is technically closer to a true gin (40% alc/vol), its new little liqueur sibling has a sweeter and softer leaning (25% alc/vol), with warming ginger and caramel notes with an array of baking spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and tonka bean, layered within a rich handcrafted gin base. This new dessert-filled liqueur is best enjoyed neat or on ice but would make itself at home in a festive cocktail or as a star ingredient for your next culinary masterpiece (perhaps a nice glaze for your hot cross buns too?). In fact, the distillers have recommended this Gingerbread Gin Liqueur as a perfect partner in a cheeky affogato for your Easter feast – see the simple recipe below. True to its slogan, this Gingerbread Gin Liqueur really is “your new happy place”
Whilst a lot of customers are obsessed with the original Gingerbread Gin, it was also noted that many were after an even more bakehouse-driven palate, so they have certainly delivered! Chief distiller and founder of The Craft & Co, Paul Baggio, has added “One of the great things about being a craft distillery and being so close to your customers, is that we can move quickly to create products that they ask for! After launching Australia’s original and longest running Gin Markets all those years ago, has given us the front seat to what Gin fanatics love. It became clear that many of the gingerbread fanatics out there wanted, or should I say demanded, more gingerbread and more flavour. So, we went down a path to intensify the flavours of our original Gingerbread Gin and concluded that a liqueur was the best expression to do so. It really is such a great exchange of ideas between distillers and consumers. That is why we call our Collingwood Distillery the ‘home of gin’ as we doubt there is any other place like it in the country.”
