ALDI introduce ‘national pricing’
International discount supermarket ALDI have implemented a national pricing policy which will ensure that grocery prices will be the same in all ALDI stores. The policy excludes fruit, vegetables and regional bakery items and is designed to ease public concern with regard to grocery prices. The decision by ALDI is likely to put more pressure on Australia’s two biggest supermarket chains, Coles and Woolworths, who have been the subject of public criticism for having discrepancies in their prices from suburb to suburb.
