Cadbury launches new Boost Nuts chocolate bar
Confectionery company Cadbury has launched a new version of its Boost chocolate bar, Boost Nuts, available from February 2014.
Cadbury said the launch of the new bar looked to build on the success of Boost Totally Nuts in 2008, which was one of the most popular limited edition products in Cadbury’s history. The new Boost Nuts bar will become a permanent product in Cadbury’s chocolate portfolio.
The Cadbury Boost Nuts chocolate bar has a centre that is a combination of smooth chocolate and peanuts, rolled in caramel and covered in Cadbury’s milk chocolate.
“Consumers love the taste of Boost, so we’ve continued to launch different limited edition bars over the years with our most successful including nuts,” said Steve Chantry, Category Head of Marketing at Cadbury. “We know people go crazy for the great taste and texture, so we’re launching a permanent edition, Boost Nuts, what we’re sure will be a hit, especially when people are craving a quick and convenient snack between meals,” he said.
Cadbury’s regular Boost chocolate bar has been a popular choice for Australians under 25 years of age. Australian Food News reported in August 2013 that market research conducted by Roy Morgan Research had found that 14 per cent of Australians under 25 said they had consumed a Boost chocolate bar in the previous four weeks, making it the most popular chocolate bar for the age group.
According to Nielsen’s Retail World Grocery Guide 2012, the Boost chocolate bar had 3.2 per cent value and 3.9 per cent volume share of the $282.8 million chocolate bar segment in Australia.
The new Boost Nuts chocolate bar is now available at Coles and Woolworths supermarkets, as well as select independent supermarkets and convenience stores for RRP $2.50.
