Cobs Popcorn launches mini packs for foodservice
Snack food manufacturer Cobs Popcorn has launched a new range of ‘mini packs’ of its popcorn for the foodservice channel.
The range, which is set to be launched at the Foodservice Australia conference in Sydney in May 2014, includes three flavours: caramel popcorn drizzled in milk chocolate; caramel popcorn drizzled in dark chocolate; and salted caramel.
Cobs Popcorn said the range was “the perfect accompaniment to a coffee or tea, offering a sweet indulgence in a snack-size”.
The Company said the new range was a twist on Cobs’ original caramel coated popcorn flavours, with the addition of chocolate.
“We wanted to create the perfect bite-sized snack, so these flavours are similar to flavours in our regular range, however they’ve been adapted slightly for the coffee shop market,” said John Walys, Co-founder of Cobs Popcorn. “The flavours aren’t too heavy or rich, making them perfect for a coffee time snack,” he said.
“We’ve designed this range so that people can grab it on the go, as well as enjoy them with a coffee at a café,” Mr Walys said. “That’s been our aim in creating this product, and we look forward to bringing it to the food service industry,” he said.
Cobs Popcorn was founded in 2004 by John and Ravit Walys, who began making the products in their home kitchen. Since then the Company’s portfolio has expanded to include an organic range, a ‘natural’ range, and a sweet-flavoured ‘natural’ range.
The rest of the Cobs Popcorn is available in IGA and Ritchie’s supermarkets, Thomas Dux grocery stores, Boost Juice stores, and selected independent retailers. The Cobs Popcorn mini packs will be available at foodservice outlets such as restaurants and cafes.
