Chobani launches new flavours in Australia

Yoghurt maker Chobani Australia has introduced three new flavours to its 170g Chobani Greek Yogurt range.

The new Chobani Greek Yogurt varieties Mandarin, Coconut and Banana ‘Fruit on the Bottom’.

Chobani Australia said its Mandarin Chobani Greek Yogurt was a world first for Chobani and was an Australian innovation, inspired by an Australian lunchbox favourite. This flavour will be available in the Chobani 170g range.

Chobani Australia said it had received requests for both coconut and banana flavoured yoghurts. The Coconut flavoured Chobani Greek Yogurt will be available in 170g tubs and 140g pouch varieties. The Banana flavour will be available in 170g tubs, with a bottom layer of real fruit, topped with delicious low-fat yogurt.

Chobani Australia, which began business in the US, said it was “staking its claim” on the Australian market by introducing these flavours based on local customer demand.

The new flavours bring Chobani Australia’s range of 170g ‘Fruit on the Bottom’ flavours to 15, which it said was “the largest of any yogurt brand in major Australian supermarkets”.

“Chobani was founded on the belief that people have great taste, they just need great options,” said Peter Meek, Chobani Australia’s Managing Director. “That’s why we’re delighted to be constantly bringing exciting new flavour innovations to market,” he said.

“Since we launched in Australia, production has risen from 25k cases a week, to 25k cases a day,” Mr Meek said. “We look forward to increasing that number further, in response to the demand and requests of our Australian fans,” he said.

For people on the go looking for a spoon-free option, Chobani Australia has also introduced its popular Raspberry and Plain flavours to the convenient 140g pouch format, in addition to the new Coconut flavour.
