McKenzie’s launches more than ten new pantry staple products in Australia
One of Australia’s oldest family-owned food manufacturers, Ward McKenzie’s (McKenzie’s) has added more than 10 new products to its portfolio of pantry staples, including gluten-free coconut flour and quinoa flour.
McKenzie’s said its new Coconut Flour and Quinoa Flour were already proving popular with baking buffs and cooking connoisseurs alike. The Company said the products contained “nothing but 100 per cent pure coconut flour and 100 per cent natural milled quinoa grain respectively”, and that both the Coconut and Quinoa Flours could be used across sweet and savoury dishes alike. The new Coconut and Quinoa Flours are available in Woolworths supermarkets.
Four more new gluten-free flours launching in September 2014
The introduction of Coconut and Quinoa flours are just the beginning though, with more gluten-free flours set to hit supermarket shelves from mid-September 2014. McKenzie’s said its new Lentil Flour, Chickpea Flour, Corn Flour and Banana Flour are all “good sources of dietary fibre and protein, with the added benefit of being low in sugar”. The new Lentil Flour, Chickpea Flour, Corn Flour and Banana Flour will be available in selected independent supermarkets nationally.
New bean and legume varieties launched
Legume-lovers are also catered for in the new additions to McKenzie’s range.
McKenzie’s Yellow Lentils and Black Beans are now available in selected independent supermarkets. The Company said the new products are “ideal for use across a number of staple dishes”, including soups, stews, curries and salads. McKenzie’s said its Yellow Lentils and Black Beans are simple to prepare and can be frozen after cooking, making them a good option for weekly meal preparation.
New range of coloured quinoa products
Quinoa fans can rejoice, with an impressive new range of coloured Quinoa products also marching out of the McKenzie’s kitchen.
McKenzie’s said its new White Quinoa, Black Quinoa, Red Quinoa and Tri Colour Quinoa products “are all gluten free, low in fat, high in fibre and protein and are fantastic additions to salads, biscuits or as rice substitutes”.
New marzipan and toasted coconut products
McKenzie’s have also released their ready to roll Marzipan (made with 30 per cent almond), and crunchy Toasted Coconut Chips.
McKenzie’s said its Toasted Coconut Chips have been “lightly toasted to produce a crunchy, nutty chip, making them an ideal snack or great for cake decorating or as a garnish in curries”. The Marzipan and Toasted Coconut Chips are available in Coles and independent supermarkets.
