Betty Crocker has a new gluten-free range in Australia

Gluten Free CakeCake-mix brand Betty Crocker has introduced a new gluten-free range to Australian supermarket shelves. The product is distributed by General Mills Australia’s ‘Plateful’ division.

The mixes come in three varieties: vanilla cake, ‘Devil’s Food’ chocolate cake and chocolate fudge brownies.

All of the new gluten-free offerings are versions of pre-existing Betty Crocker products without containing any gluten.

The brownies and Devil’s food chocolate cake are on Coeliac Australia’s July 2015 product endorsement list.

Devil’s Food chocolate cake and the Vanilla cake each come with icing frosting.

Betty Crocker was first started in the US in 1921 by the Washburn Crosby company. The Australian distribution and manufacturing rights are held by Plateful, which operates under the General Mills Company.Plateful also holds the Old El Paso, Latina Fresh and Nature Valley brands in Australia.

Betty Crocker’s gluten-free range is available now at Coles, Woolworths and independent supermarkets. The recommend retail price is $6.59 for a 450 gram box.
