Latina Fresh introduces gluten-free option
General Mills Australia’s Latina Fresh brand has launched a gluten-free pasta range.
On offer is gluten-free versions of Latina Fresh beef ravioli, fettuccine and lasagne sheets.
The new products are endorsed by Coeliac Australia and are free from artificial colours and flavours.
The ravioli and fettuccine serve two people and the lasagne sheets come in a ‘family serve’ packet.
The gluten-free range follows the decision by General Mills Australia to release gluten-free options of its Betty Crocker cake-mixes.
General Mills Australia has also recently further invested in product expansion, introducing a new Indian cooking brand into Australian supermarkets, Parampara.
The Latina Fresh gluten-free range is available now at Woolworths and Coles supermarkets. The range starts at $6.00 for a 280gm packet of the lasagne sheets.
According to RetailWorld 2014 issue, General Mills occupied 58.9 per cent volume of the supermarket market-share in the fresh pasta category. Competitors in the fresh pasta category include Simplot with its Leggos brand (9.5 per cent), San Remo (9.4 per cent), Guzzi (1.7 per cent), private labels (7.8 per cent) and other brands (12.6 per cent).
