Pioneer bush tucker expert to be Australia’s next export to France

Native Australian FoodAustralia’s best known bush foods expert Vic Cherikoff has revealed he is leaving Australia to live in France.

 

Cherikoff has dedicated his career to native Australian food. He spent the 1980s working in the Human Nutrition Unit at the University of Sydney where he studied the nutritional value of Australian wild foods from the Australian bush.

 

He established Bush Tucker Supply Pty Ltd and Vic Cherikoff Food Services to sell indigenous food ingredients.

 

Cherikoff also created a cooking show called ‘Dining Downunder’ which was aired globally. He has published three books, The Bushfood Handbook, Uniquely Australia and The Dining Downunder Cookbook.

 

Cherikoff published on his LinkedIn account that he is moving to France in order to spread his wild food wares in Europe and to launch a new food product.

 

As part of the move, Cherikoff has listed his unique Sydney home for sale. The house includes numerous native food plants.
