SunRiceSunRice is now selling what it describes as a ‘rain fed’ range of brown and jasmine rice.

The rice comes from North Queensland and is grown using rainwater. SunRice says by using the rainwater the rice is “highly fragrant, super soft and delicious”.

General Manager at SunRice, David Keldie, said North Queensland is home to some of Australia’s World Heritage listed sites and he is pleased the rice can come from the area.

“We’re so pleased to be partnering with the region’s farmers to grow a delicious and versatile rice that’s perfect for adding a dash of something special to Australians’ cooking,” Keldie said.

The range is promoted by café owners and cookbook authors, Guy Turland and Mark Alston from Bondi Harvest.

SunRice’s rain fed range is available now at Woolworths and IGA supermarkets across Australia. The recommended retail price is AUD $ 4.49 for both the brown and jasmine varieties.
