Ingham’s extends Woolworths poultry supply contract
Ingham’s has extended its poultry supply contract with Woolworths until mid-2021.
The contract extension will see Ingham’s maintain its role as Woolworths’ majority poultry supplier for Australia.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ingham’s, Mick McMahon, said Ingham’s has now had a supply relationship with Woolworths for decades.
“This agreement extends our supply relationship with Woolworths to over 60 years and supports our investment in capability and capacity to meet market growth and demand for Ingham’s quality products,” he said.
Focus on long-term supply contracts
Ingham’s said the extension is part of its ongoing strategy to formalise long-term supply relationships with major customers where possible.
“Long-term supply agreements with major customers now account for over 65 per cent of Australian poultry volumes with average remaining tenure exceeding 3 years,” McMahan said.
In March 2017, Woolworths Chief Executive Officer, Brad Banducci, said Woolworths was also looking to invest in long-term supply contracts.
Ingham’s floated on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in late 2016.
