Sanitarium ‘Weet-Bix Cholesterol Lowering’ product has been named product of the year at the Australian Healthy Food Magazine Awards.

The Sanitarium product gained attention when launched earlier in 2017 with Sanitarium saying it is “clinically proven to reduce cholesterol levels by up to 9 per cent in four weeks”.

 

Judge and Dietitian, Karissa Woolfe, said the product of the year award “recognises a product with outstanding nutritional value that gets top points for innovation and ease.”

 

Other winners from the 2017 Healthy Food Magazine Awards include best packaged snack which went to Freedom Foods for its Barley+ Seven Seeds Bar, best flavoured yoghurt which was awarded to Rokeby Farms for its Quark Yoghurt and Woolworths for its Delicious Nutritious Asian Style Chicken which won best ready-made meal.

 

Judges for this year’s awards included dietitian Dr Joanna McMillan, editor of the Australian Healthy Food Guide Brooke Longfield, nutritionist Catherine Saxelby and dietitian and journalist Karissa Woolfe.
