Primo is now selling a new range of premium deli meats.
Primo’s Premium Selections Deli Meats range includes six variants – traditional leg ham, herb and garlic crusted leg ham, pepper crusted roast pork, pepper crusted roast beef, garlic, wine and paprika salami and chilli salami.
In launching the new range, Primo conduct research into Australian lunch habits, finding one third of office employees have had their lunch stolen from the work fridge.
Despite falling victim to lunchtime thieves themselves, 37 per cent of survey respondents said they may be prompted to take another colleagues lunch.
Over 10 per cent admitted they would be tempted to take their workmates lunch if it looked better than their own and 12 per cent would be tempted to steal a fellow workers lunch if they forgot their own.
Over 20 per cent said they may mistakenly think someone else’s lunch is theirs and eat it.
Primo spokesperson, Donna Oakley Davies, said over a third of office workers bring in their lunch to work and use the office fridge, spending over AUD $1, 700 on lunch annually.
“Primo understands there is nothing more frustrating than having your lunch stolen from the work fridge by colleagues, and we know Aussie office workers agree, with 45 per cent stating it would make them feel ‘hangry’ (angry and hungry) and 42 per cent saying it would make them feel distrustful of their colleagues,” Oakley Davies said.
Primo’s new deli meats are available now at Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery stores, so Primo has issued a warning for Australian workers to protect their lunches.
“With six delicious variants and thicker slices, Primo Premium Selections Deli Meats is a tempting target for office lunch thieves, so we’re shedding light on the issue to help Aussie office workers be prepared,” Oakley Davies said.
The recommend retail price for Primo’s Premium Selections Deli Meats is AUD $4.00 per serving.
Primo is owned by the Australian arm of Brazil’s largest meat processor, JBS Australia. JBS Australia acquired Primo in 2014 in a $1.4 billion deal.
