Murray Goulburn sells Edith Creek site
Murray Goulburn has sold its Edith Creek facility to the Australian arm of Thai milk processor, Dutch Mill.
The sale price has not been disclosed.
Murray Goulburn had announced earlier that the Edith Creek facility, located in Tasmania, would be closing. The sale will not affect the closure which will still go ahead.
As part of the sale, Dutch Mill will acquire all of the site’s land and assets. The sale is expected to be complete in early 2018.
Murray Goulburn Chief Executive Officer, Ari Mervis, thanked the Edith Creek employees for their contributions.
“The decision to close this processing site was difficult to make, however a necessary step on the journey to ensure the competitiveness of MG,” Mervis said.
“We congratulate Dutch Mill on their acquisition of Edith Creek, and wish them well for the future.”

Dutch Mill is one of Thailand’s largest manufacturers and marketers of dairy products. It was founded in 1984 under the name Pro Food Co. The company’s name changed to Dutch Mill in 1991.
Dutch Mill largely produces dairy products for countries located in Asia.
