Chobani's first Australian Food Incubator inductees

The first five businesses to go through Chobani Australia’s food incubator program have been announced.

In August 2017, Chobani founder and CEO, Hamdi Ulukaya visited Australia to launch the Australian version of Chobani’s incubator program designed to support food start-ups.

Chobani has now chosen its first five Australian start-ups to spend four months at the incubation facility located within the Food Innovation Centre at Monash University.

99th Monkey, Oakleigh (VIC)

99th Monkey makes nut butters, using all ethically sourced, minimally processed ingredients.  99th Monkey started selling from farmers markets before expanding into independent health-food and fine food stores, with product now stocked in 700 stores around Australia.

Bake Mixes, Watsonia (VIC)

Bake Mixes creates simple to use, health-focused baking mixes. Bake Mixes started in a home kitchen in Melbourne and the range is now produced in a not-profit factory and available for purchase at over 350 health food stores Australia-wide.

Matcha Maiden, Malvern (VIC)

Matcha Maiden were the first to bring Matcha to Australia. Today Matcha Maiden sells organic matcha powder, matcha tea, matcha protein slice mix and more.

Mingle Seasoning, Strathmore (VIC)

An innovative business which creates seasonings which are low in sugar and salt.

Kooee! Snacks, Launceston (TAS)

A producer of beef jerky made from grass-fed Tasmanian beef. The company is committed to creating jobs in their regional factory in Tasmania and receiving funding from the Federal Government to make this a reality. Kooee is currently sold in over 500 retailers in Australian.

Across the four months, the start-ups will receive access to Chobani staff members and executives and a $10, 000 grant.
