Farm Pride releases powdered whole eggs
In an Australian first, Farm Pride has launched Powdered Whole Eggs onto Australian supermarket shelves. The 150 gram packs are equivalent to a dozen eggs, and are now located in the baking aisle of all Coles stores nationally.
With a long shelf life, Farm Pride’s Powdered Whole Eggs can be used in any recipe requiring fresh eggs including cakes and biscuits, pies and quiches, pasta, even omelettes and scrambled eggs.
Since Farm Pride Powdered Whole Eggs have been pasteurised, they are shelf stable and can be used in place of fresh egg and used immediately. To reconstitute one egg, just add a tablespoon of Farm Pride’s Powdered Whole Eggs with three tablespoons of water.
The powdered whole eggs can also be used as a protein supplement in drinks such as shakes and smoothies. Plus, the long storage life of Farm Pride’s Powdered Whole Eggs makes them convenient for outdoor activities such as camping.
Previously, Farm Pride’s Powdered Whole Eggs have been available exclusively to food manufacturers and food service customers, but this handy product is now available for every Australian household pantry.
Farm Pride managing director, Zelko Lendich, said the home has once again become the central hub for daily living and release of Powdered Whole Eggs into Coles supermarkets has been driven in part by the popularity of television shows such as Masterchef.
“Consumers are dining at home and entertaining at home, and the home cook is now experimenting with their cooking repertoire,” he said.
“These same consumers however are increasingly time poor, so providing a convenient alternative to their baking and cooking needs has driven the launch of the Farm Pride Whole Powdered Eggs.”

I went into Coles yesterday and asked where this product was, I was met with a blank face to wit she replied, “What”? I repeated my question and asked her to go and ask a senior person which she did only to return with the reply, “Nup never heard of that stuff” there you go service and know your products.. Onyu Coles.
How does this differ ( if at all ) r people with egg allergies ??? I love scrambled eggs, but after an hour l’m not well at all!!
Does having the whole egg remove any of the parts that can bring on an allergy attack.
Very interested to find an egg replacement ,that tastes like egg and smells like egg..

A photo – here – of what the pack looks like would be a great help in aiding us to find it. Obviously Coles staff have no idea – yet.
I purchased whole powdered egg in Coles Whyalla Sa store for rrp $5.99. Previously tried other coles without success.
Told a staff member how happy i was, as I was actually looking at having it posted from sydney with all the handling cost on top of price.
The staff member didnt know of its existence. I found it in the cooking aisle near the bread flours about chest height. Should be the same in all coles stores. Hope this helps
I have found this product in every Coles store I have visited in my locale – but prices vary from the rr of $5.99 to $7.99. I use the egg powder for camping and have found it to be a very good product (ok so I do miss my fried eggs) – scrambled egg and various baking in the camp oven as well as making fine custard to go with the apple pies I cook mean the finer luxuries are available without the hassle of keeping fresh eggs.
Farm Pride’s instructions on the container I bought state that one tablespoon of powder plus three tablespoons of water equal one egg, which is at odds both with their claim that each 150g container contains the equivalent of a dozen eggs and other powdered egg producers’ recommendation of 2 tbsp powder + 4 tbsp water = 1 egg.
After following Farm Pride’s recommendations once and finding that a pitifully small quantity of scrambled eggs resulted, I measured the remaining contents of a 150g container, and after extracting 12 tablespoons of powder, using an measuring spoon, found that the container was still nearly half full.
Does not instil confidence.
