Goodman Fielder announces resignation of baking boss

Goodman Fielder has today announced that their Managing Director of Fresh Baking, Gordon Hardie, has decided to leave to pursue a chief executive position elsewhere.

Mr Hardie, who has been with the Australian manufacturer for seven years, will leave the business on Friday September 4.

“Gordon has been a highly valued member of our group executive team since 2004, having joined the company in 2002,” Peter Margin, Goodman Fielder CEO, said today. “He has successfully led our baking division through some testing times, including the last few years of record high agricultural commodity costs and depressed consumer confidence. He also guided the baking business during the period of the re-listing of the company in 2005.”

Mr Margin reported that the decision was made by Mr Hardie as he felt it was now the right time to “focus on achieving his aspiration of becoming a company chief executive”.

“We wish him every success in this endeavour and, on behalf of the Board and management, I thank him for the considerable contribution he has made to Goodman Fielder over the past seven years.”
