Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars has received the major award for ‘Outstanding Excellence’ at the ActionCOACH My Business Awards. The fast-growing pizza franchise, which gained notoriety when becoming the first pizza chain to receive the Heart Foundation ‘tick’, received the award in Sydney last Friday along with acclaim in the Best Retailer category.
The awards recognise SME businesses and franchises that excel across all areas of business practice.

Crust was up against some of the biggest Australian-owned brands across all categories, including Bakers Delight and Pizza Capers.

Last year, Crust was a finalist in the Best Retailer category and this year’s win comes after a 12-month period in which they have almost doubled their number of outlets.

Costa Anastasiadis, founder and managing director of Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars said the business has been going through a strong growth phase.

“We only had 19 stores when we applied for the awards last year and now we have 37 stores across the Eastern Seaboard, which has been a major achievement for us,” he said.

“The Outstanding Excellence Award means a lot to our business as it recognises all that we achieved over the last 12 months.”
