WBC gluten-free Bircher Muesli
WBC Bircher muesli has released a new gluten-free museli, designed as a nutritionally-optimised breakfast option for coeliac sufferers and those who prefer a gluten-free taste.
The museli uses uncooked rolled rice in place of oats, with added almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and pepitas (roasted Mexican-style pumpkin seeds), as well as cranberries, coconuts and sultanas for a sweet twist.
In addition to being gluten-free, the muesli is high in fibre, protein and omega fatty acids.
WBC is available online at www.worldsbestcereal.com, from selected good health food stores, health practitioners and independent supermarkets nationally. Prices start at RRP $14 for 500g or RRP $24 for 1kg bag, for a longer lasting energy source.
WBC’s health mentor, naturopath and chiropractor Dr Damian Kristof, star of New Zealand TV show Downsize Me, recommends that the new museli is best, not with the usual milk, but with fruit juice.
“For a wholesome breakfast serve 150g of WBC Bircher with 350mL fruit juice, 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt with acidophilus, and two to three varieties of your favourite fruits for added flavour.”
WBC also recommends soaking the museli overnight.
“Stir through your choice of chopped fresh fruit, yoghurt and grated apple; let it work its magic overnight for 8-12 hours in the fridge, and presto! A hearty, nourishing and satisfying breakfast dish to last you the working week,” said Kristof.
