Australia’s largest pizza company, Domino’s Pizza, has launched an Android app which allows its customers to place an order using their smartphone.

Domino’s CEO Don Meij said the pizza chain’s Android app has been designed and developed in Australia. Any customer with an Android device can place an order with Domino’s using the app.

Through a turn-style menu, the app allows Domino’s customers to customise their own pizza, place an order, choose pick-up or delivery, and track exactly when the order is due to arrive at their front door.

Mr Meij said, “We are excited by today’s launch of Domino’s Android app, a milestone in our digital commitment to ensure our customers can order anywhere, anytime.

“Thanks to the flexibility of the Android operating system we have been able to add additional features to enhance the ‘Domino’s store in your pocket’ experience the app provides.”

…and Woolworths meanwhile releases app for Android

Meanwhile, in a separate smartphone development, Woolworths has followed its recent release of an iPhone app by launching the same app for Android this week.

Woolworths Innovation Program Manager Has Fakira said, “Android is Google’s smartphone platform which is used by many major phone manufacturers and millions of customers across Australia so it made sense to extend our app to these other smartphone users.”

Customers can personalise the app to their local Woolworths supermarket and create an aisle ordered shopping list, making it easier to navigate the store.
