Coca-Cola Amatil announces new glass bottles will give premium value

Coca-Cola Amatil has today announced two packaging changes to glass bottles sold  in licensed premises across the Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lift and Fanta range. The new bottles will enter the market in September 2012.

Two packaging changes will see an increase in glass bottle volume from 250mL to 330mL and a change from a crown seal cap to a twist-top resealable cap, while keeping the same classic designs for each flavour.

The packaging change for the Coca-Cola glass bottle range was decided upon after consumer research conducted by the brand indicated the majority of Australian soft drink consumers think that 330mL is the ideal bottle size and that they prefer a resealable cap.

Trent Lilienthal, Coca-Cola Licensed – Customer and Commercial Manager said that “by increasing the volume size of the Coca-Cola premium glass bottle range and adding a resealable cap, we are giving our on-premise consumers the size they want of their favourite soft drink, with the extra convenience of portability.”

“The unique Coca-Cola design was invented in 1915 and is an integral component of one of the most recognised icons of our time, distinct on the basis of feel alone. These packaging changes are part of an ongoing evolution of a classic,” added Mr Lilienthal.
