Mount Franklin’s “pourage rights” exclusivity for the Australian Open
Coca Cola Amatil’s Mount Franklin brand has signed a three-year contract with Tennis Australia to be “the official water provider” of the Australian Tennis Open.
As part of the arrangement between Coca-Cola Amatil, Tennis Australia and the Melbourne Olympic Park Trust, Mount Franklin will receive “exclusive pourage rights” at Melbourne Park, which includes Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena and the Melbourne Park Function Centre.
Coca Cola Amatil’s other brand, Powerade, also has sponsorship deals with Tennis Australia including “Official Supplier of Non Alcoholic Ready to Drink beverages to the Australian Open” and “Official Sports drink of the Australian Open.”
Coca-Cola Amatil Managing Director of Australian Beverages division, John Murphy, said that they were thrilled to supply elite tennis players with Mount Franklin products.
“The Australian Open is such an iconic part of the nation’s sporting calendar so we are extremely proud to be a part of this Grand Slam event,” Mr Murphy said.
To coincide with the deal, Mount Franklin will implement various tennis themed packaging on its bottles during January 2013. Coca Cola Amatil will also have rights to provide a “Mount Franklin Waterfall Dome” for consumers to quench their thirst and relax in while at the 2013 Australian Open.
